There is a huge selection of spy gear available to professionals as well as the general public. Maybe you are getting ready to start your own Private Investigator business, well no client will take you serious unless you have the right professional spy gear to do the job.
Professional grade listening devices, or Bugs, are a must in the arsenal of any good professional private investigator. These go way beyond the simple pens outfitted with a microphone and get into some serious listening ability. Some of these listening devices that can allow you to hear what is being said over 300 yards away and are ideal for many professional jobs. Simply hook your device into a digital recorder, then listen and record at the same time. Some of the newest devices that are in use can even cancel out background noise, allowing you to hear the subjects of your surveillance much much clearer.
A typical Spy Listening Device consists of a microphone and a radio transmitter. The microphone receives sound waves and either vibrates a thin membrane called a diaphragm (a dynamic microphone) or a thin metal ribbon suspended in a magnetic field (a ribbon microphone). Vibration of the diaphragm produces an electrical signal. Vibration of the metal ribbon produces a voltage change, which can be converted to an electrical signal.
Bugs come in all shapes and sizes. The original purpose of bugs was to relay sound. Today the miniaturization of electronics has progressed so far then even TV pictures can be broadcast via bugs that incorporate miniature video cameras. They can be used to allow you to make sure that your kids are safe, that your partner is faithful, or to help you discover what others plan and say behind your back. They are immensely useful in divorce cases and custody hearings, and they can also be used to help you protect yourself from false accusations and they can even be used when you bug yourself in order to make sure you have the right way of any conversation that might have taken place.
